17 October 2026

Salome Badiashvili, a veterinary assistant at Veterinarium Clinic and a master’s student at the Agricultural University of Georgia’s School of Veterinary Medicine, attended the WSAVA-PSAVA-FECAVA World Congress 2026, held in Warsaw, Poland, on 13-15 October.

The Congress is a one of the major international events in small animal veterinary medicine, bringing together veterinarians and leading experts from around the world. The Congress’s sessions covered current topics in small animal medicine, including internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia and pain management, emergency and critical care, oncology, cardiology, neurology, and other clinical disciplines. The program also explored modern approaches to disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, alongside animal nutrition and welfare and the use of artificial intelligence in veterinary practice.

Salome is one of the recipients of the FECAVA Student Travel Scholarship 2026. Awarded by the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), the scholarship enables students from European veterinary schools to attend the Congress.

In addition to her scholarship, Salome’s travel to Poland and participation in the Congress were also financially supported by the Veterinarium Staff Development Fund.
